After the dollhouse a new project had to be started! Because our daughter is going to need a bigger bed, that seemed like the best thing to start working on. It will be a simple floorbed with a bookcase (and a secret compartment!). For now I finished bed frame.
I did it! The dollhouse was finished just in time for christmas last year. Because I redrew the plans on forehand the construction was rather quick and easy. One week was all it took.
Just because it was fun to do, I wrote a “how-to” for the dollhouse that will be posted on Instructable.com in a while. Until then, these pictures will have to suffice.
After a well deserved vacation in the sun it is time to get cracking and to put together the dollhouse. Wood has been bought and parts have been measured (twice!) and cut. In order to get the walls and gussets of the frames really spot on they will be laser cut at the nearby Fab Lab. I will just let the pictures speak for them selves.
Well, I finally finished the drawing for the exterior and the interior frames. Some small changes may still take place when I continue to finish the floorplan and move some walls around for a few millimeters here or there, but nothing drastic will change. The final size of the house will also match with one of her dolls (froym which we plan to buy and collect more) a small and simple flexible doll by Käthe Kruse.
Below you can find a preview image of the exterior frame. In the meantime while I finish up the drawings and start collecting the first pieces of wood, why don’t you take a look at some A+ A-frames? On Flickr: The A-Frames Pool or try Pinterest: Cabins/Outdoors.
